Gi Care

The following care instructions have been provided by ATAMA in reference to caring for their kimonos:
- Wash in cold water, Line dry, or if you must use a dryer, use no heat or the lowest heat setting. This will maximize the life of the kimono and minimize shrinkage as well as avoid damage to the fibers and collars.
- Never use chlorine or bleach as it will damage the fibres and ruin the kimono.
- Use colour safe detergent.
- Before washing, soak the kimono in a tub of cold water with 2 - 3 cups of vinegar for 30 minutes. This helps prevent fading and sets the colour.
